The form below allows you to submit new and updated skins
for skin verification and official archiving.
Benefits
Unless you tell us otherwise, your skin will be listed in the archive
section. Advantages of submitting a skin to this site include:
- Your skin will be easier to find, as it will be listed on this
official site
- By recommending an optional preferred download site, you can sponsor
your favorite skin site
- Your skin can be tested against possible present and future technical
issues
- Your skin will not be unavailable or lost if the only site hosting it
has a problem
- If you include a link to your home page, your search engine rankings
may improve as a result of our listing
- Clients interested in custom calculators have
a way to see your portfolio and to contact you for possible design
services
- You will receive a free license key for the currency-enabled versions
(WorldCalc and
Euro Calculator)
- We are very proud of the skins created for this software, which are
the result of a lot of passion and hard work, and we are grateful for each
contribution.
Recommendations
We will be happy to check your skin and let you know if any changes are
recommended. If you would like to help us avoid common issues, kindly
consider the following:
- Go through the skin checklist,
which also includes tips for choosing a short name (to be used for the
archive, screenshot and thumbnail files).
- It would be nice if you provided a screenshot of the calculator on
white background, both as a full-size PNG file as a JPEG (80% quality)
file, shrunk to fit in a
160x160 box.
- For best results when grabbing the calculator screenshot, enable the
Smooth edges of screen fonts option in your computer's Display properties,
but disable ClearType (because it is device-specific). Then place the
calculator on a white background (at least around the edges) and press
Alt+Print Screen. Feel free to express yourself by using any digits or
unit you like (e.g. the shot of a currency calculator could use the unit
of the country you call home).
- Use the short name for all three files (e.g. shortname.zip,
shortname.png and shortname.jpg), as well as for the directory inside the
ZIP archive.
- Most of the information which is displayed in the skin
archive is extracted from the [General] section
of the skin.ini file. The Notes field in the archive reflects the
Comment information included in the skin.ini data.
- You can use a nickname or your real name, whatever you prefer. What
gets posted is the data in skin.ini, not the data you
provide in the submission form below.
- To protect you from
spam, your
email address will not be listed. You can still make this data accessible
by including it in the skin.ini file inside the ZIP archive.
- Your home page, if provided in the skin.ini file, will be linked to in
the archive, under your name.
- If you provide a functioning link to a preferred download page, that
information will be used instead of a link to the file in our archive.
Kindly link to the page for this specific skin, not to the root of the site.
- If you only need to make small changes, feel free to
drop us a note. You don't need to resubmit
everything.
